The Decision Is Made!
Following indepth study, the SOS Committee advises that in the committee's opinion the "Survival Matching" Kidney Allocation Concept is overall best for the long time " Waiting List" candidates! Three major reasons brought support for "Survival Matching".
(1) It was felt "Age Matching" is driven by "Age Discrimination" against those not meeting the proposed age requirements for transplantation. No matter how "Age Matching" might be ultimately worded to side-step the "Age Discrimination" charge, It is the SOS Committee opinion, that legal action will dominate the future regarding this kidney allotment debate. (2) Candidates will soon enough learn that "Age Matching" requirements can be a death sentence! (3) "Age Matching" is not FAIR!
